Tile over Mudded joint in shower
Post Body

Hi all,

I am finishing my shower. I used kerdi board, and contracted out the drywall finishing for the bathroom. Well, where the drywall meets the shower, he did a large band of mud over the Kerdi board. My concern is that moisture could affect the bond between the mud and the thin set, causing the tile to move.

Is it safe to tile over this Mud using the Kerdi all-set? Kerdi customer support gave me the run around and ended up in a guys voicemail who is on vacation for a week.

The drywall guy is going to finish today, so wanted to bring it up if it's an issue. Thanks so much for the reassurance.
