Here is the step that I am referring to.
I am getting to the end of putting a bathroom in my basement. Put this step in front of the shower to hide the cement I had to use to level the shower stall. Have just finished putting down the luxury plank vinyl in the bathroom and am unsure of what I should do to cover this step. I considered using construction adhesive (liquid nails) to glue the vinyl to the step but worry that there is a soft underlayment associated with the vinyl that will eventually peel off with each time someone steps on the ledge coming out or going into the shower. I am now considering either peel and stick vinyl with a step nose to help cover the right angle where the two pieces come together vs putting tile down in this one location (I did not use tile on the floor due to the slight slope and slight uneven surface of the floor).
Any help in deciding how to go about covering the step is greatly appreciated.
In hindsight, I would have never put the step here but when I first framed the bathroom in, I didn't plan on leveling the entire floor. Later I came to my senses and self leveled the floor, but I had already enclosed the step underlying the drywall on either side and could not remove it at that point without potentially damaging the base of the shower pan.
