Flipping the finished side of a fence
Post Body

So, itโ€™s accepted that the finished side of a fence should face your neighbors. Itโ€™s also enforced by our HOA.

The land behind us will be developed in the near future. When our fence was installed, that side was just woods. So the nice part of the fence faces inward, toward our house.

When the development goes in, and people are living in the new townhomes on the other side of that fence, am I obligated to disassemble the fence and turn the finished side outward toward them? And even if I'm not obligated, is it the friendly thing to do?

Not sure why it's required for this post, but we're in the southeastern US. Edit: The development is unrelated to our development/HOA but will include residences.
