Bought a house from an AV obsessed weirdo
Post Body

TL;DR - I have tons of random wires/cables coming out of ceilings / walls, need suggestions for removing and repairing.

here are some examples

So, I bought a house at the end of last year, and I knew he had installed cameras inside (just had no idea how hard those would be to remove), but didn’t know just how AV obsessed this guy was or how to fix it now.

I paid a friend’s boyfriend to go in my attic and remove the hanging cameras installed in the house, but he told me that there was a ton of coax cable running all over my attic. Internet had issues the first few weeks I lived here and they had to send out some high level tech who pulled 50 feet of coax out of my attic. The crazy part of THAT is there is apparently even more up there that was stapled to beams.

Well, the cameras are down now and I got those holes patched, but I still have a ton of coax cables sticking out of walls in various rooms (badly installed) and a long wire hanging from the ceiling in a closet. None of them can be seen from the attic side of the walls, and I’ve tried tugging them out and they don’t budge.

So... suggestions? Is it better to just cut them and put a flat plate over the hole? Is there any risk having all this coax in my walls?

Any idea what the heck the long white wire is?

Basically, just looking for some kind of guidance/help. This house has been a nightmare since I moved in because this idiot did so many things wrong, but the wires are just pissing me off.

Single mom here in Dallas, TX, and admittedly dumb when it comes to home repair. Open to all reasonable suggestions!
