Moved into new condo with laminate flooring. About 8 months after move-in I notice some bubbling appearing along the edges of several planks (see pic). Over next 3 months the bubbling worsened and I found them in other areas too.
Contacted my builder as condo <1 year old. He said these are self-inflicted water damage and they wont be repairing them. The bubbling is in a very low-traffic area not near any sources of water. And apart from normal cleaning with a swiffer, I am certain there has not been significant water on the floor.
Obvious I wasnt happy with that reply and subsequently filed a new home warrantee claim (Aviva). They sent an inspector to examine the flooring and the report basically said "underlying cause of defect not identified, advise further testing'.
The builder conducted the test without me present by soaking a piece of flooring (their extra stock) in water for 10 minutes and then let it dry. They claim the flooring is perfectly water resistant and there's nothing wrong. I wasn't happy with this outcome obviously and have appeal with Aviva.
Do you guys have any idea what could have caused these bubbling? any Advice?
