Room Finishing Question
Post Body

The area above my garage is an unfinished space that I am turning into a walk-in closet off of a small bedroom (soon to be a baby nursery in November). I have framed the walls, added insulation, and will be installing sheetrock this week.

This is my first time performing any work like this and I am trying to figure out what would be the best way to finish the closet. I'm looking to get this done by September in order to get the nursery furniture moved into the room in case of an early arrival.

As a complete novice DIY'er, I'm unsure if I should either:

  • Drywall and tape/mud or
  • Blue Board and Plaster

Any suggestions from someone who performs finish work regularly and can give some suggestions on the best way to go. Right now I'm most focused on the time factor needed to complete work, ease of DIY, and lastly cost (again as it's just a closet, I'm trying not to spend a fortune here).

Thanks for any help/suggestions.

EDIT for clarity of question.
