Ice in gutter

Hi, I am a first time homeowner. I bought my house in spring of 2016. This winter I have noticed that I have serious icicles all around my house. It looks like the gutter is fully packed of ice and the gutter that goes down sides of house are also full of ice. I've read that this can do serious damage because of back logged water. Any suggestions on a easy removal? Is this a job for a professional?
