We are having the hardwood floors throughout our house refinished by contractors and of course need to be gone for the days while it is happening.
We will be at an Airbnb across town and wonāt be able to unlock the house and lock back up every day. We have moved all our furniture and so on into the garage.
Is there a standard way to handle security for this process? I have no reason not to trust our contractor but handing him a key and saying āhereās my house and all my belongings, see you in a few days (and please donāt make a copy of the key!)ā feels weird.
I know at some point you just have to trust professionals and my guess is thatās what folks will tell me, but I thought Iād ask this wonderful group in case thereās a simple standard practice that I just donāt know about. (Tried googling and didnāt find anything.)
