Concrete foundation hole 3 1/2” diameter 8” deep okay?
Post Body

I have another post about drilling into my concrete basement floor- the advice to get a good rotary hammer drill was very good.

I realized I also needed a hole through the foundation to get the radon vent out- the tube is sch40 PVC 3”, which is 3.5” outer diameter. I’ve already drilled the hole and everything looks okay- but now I’m worried it was a mistake. Online it says anything over 3” should consult a structural engineer.

My basement is a walkout (I live on a hill) and the hole is about 7 feet above the basement floor. The foundation goes up to about 10’. And above that there is a suspended concrete garage with framed wood sides.

Did the hole I drilled compromise the structure?
