In my basement I have installed a French drain. Pressure relief holes were drilled at the base near the slab to prevent any water buildup inside of the cinder block cavities. When they were drilled, some cavities did have water that came out once the hole was drilled. I'm failing to understand why even with this, water still comes thru the block. The block wall has been sealed inside with dryloc, yet water and efflorescence still seems to push thru. How is it pushing thru if, 1. There is no water filling the cavity, and 2. Pressure relief holes are in place? In some spot I can look into the cavity and clearly seen down to the slab, there is no standing water. How does hydrostatic pressure work against me in this case???
