So I was outside loading mulch into someone's car, and I was on my phone because my dad usually gives me texts around that time to see if my job is working out okay. After that I had to pull a Grill down from the overhead, I march inside with an associate who know how to work the forklift. When I was inside, I saw someone running up and down the aisles, it was an old African American dude and he was very angry for some reason.
We were halfway down the grill aisle when the AA dude, shouted at me asking why I was walking away from him. I thought maybe I upset the customer, so I went followed him outside to the main entrance. For Context, there were at least 15 people at the customer service desk, and they were watching the angry meltdown of the old man. I was outside the front entrance, and the guy yelled a string of obscenities at me. stuff like i outta put my foot in your ass and your parents should be ashamed of themselves etc.
Even to this point in time, I had no idea what I had done to upset the customer. I thought maybe the customer called on me and he was getting angry for that reason, but when I was outside I did not hear anyone call my name or anything. I still thought I had done something wrong to upset the customer. He got into his car (he parked right outside the entrance door) and burned rubber. Then 6 orange aprons walked outside and asked me if i was alright and what happened.
this is where I should explain something, when normal people face this situation they would cry and be scared for some reason I just started to laugh really hard. I think it was the obscenities that man called me that made me stream tears from my eyes.
Long story short, since that man created a ruckus, the ASM called the manager and filed for an incident report. I was given a 5 min pep talk with my coach and the ASM to never walk outside with an angry customer. The ASM thought i was scared so he bought me a cookie.
So yeah that was my experience, anyone had anything similar to my experience?
