Hey everyone, I've been a Home Depot customer service associate since May and I tell you, my faith in humanity went down during my six or so months here. Customers come in making outrageous demands like wanting to rent vehicles for free and attempting to return filthy, very well used items. I once witnessed a customer return a plumbing tool covered in feces and urine (the associate who returned the item was new at the time).
I've had customers try to intimidate me into making returns for things like used paint and drill bits, many of which didn't even have the receipt. I've been screamed at and had hands slap the counter for this too. I've heard that our female associates are the ones who are subjected to the most intimidation by customers. They would go behind the desk to try to scare them into doing whatever they want. What is wrong with people? Are these men such cowards that they're willing to "stand up" to the women to this degree but not the men? Shoplifting has also become very prevalent at my store. Has Home Depot always had a problem with entitled low-lives making the our job a living hell? Or is there something about this store that attracts garbage people?
