What's everyone's thoughts on this? Most of my team live upwards of an hour away from a DC but the store is within an hour so we were told to go there Wednesday. $75 a shift on top of any bonus, but you have to stay the whole 6 to 8 weeks. They didnt say it was only that long, they left that part open ended. The DC gets paid significantly higher than storeside, and it's only day MET that is going. Any input on this? I don't like the idea that they think that MET can be redeployed within in an hour of the store they work at on a whim, and the fact they're going to try to force us to go almost makes me want to walk off the job. It sets a bad precedent for future worker shortages because home depot won't pay market rates, so they'll move MET around to cover the gaps even more now. ASMs only have to travel 30 or 45 minutes and are paid significantly more, but MET has to travel an hour? These questions were all sidestepped in the name of helping your company out in the time of need.
