(CA) At my store, we only have one kitchen designer and they're not always readily available to help customers. So i've been shown how to make just an estimate for the countertop, with taking their rough measurements Figuring out the square footage, and then just timing it by what the cost is per square foot.
I've tried to show other associates this, but they find it a little too difficult for them to remember everything needed to go into that.
So I built a web app not just for the purposes of helping , but to help myself learn a new coding language. The application allows people to put in their measurements in either inches or feet, and then it figures out the square footage, And then you can put in a price per square footage and it calculates that for you.
I showed my ASM It and the showed that they were excited. And then afterwards My DS had to talk to me because it takes away from leads and measures. When it's just simply a tool to help and it doesn't associate it self with home depot in anyway.
But it made me feel like Home Depot wants to mislead customers and make hard or difficult to something and feel like they have rely on associates.
Idk I just wanted to vent about it.
