Alright, I'll start by sharing that I have the decorating skills of a of a toddler with a crayon. I am totally clueless.

After 5 years of jumping place to place I finally found an apartment I am excited to stay at, and want to make it feel more at home.

My questions are not about what colors and shades to make things look nice. I'm just going to do my own thing, it's going to be great to me, horrible to others.

It's more about the measurements. For the width of the curtain I read you want it to be about 1.5x to 2.5x. As for the length of the curtain for the windows, and length of the curtain for a class door I am less sure. I also don't know about curtain rod lengths.

So I am basically looking for how long should the curtain rods be? How much longer do the curtains need to be compared to the windows and doors I am covering?

And if you guys wish to throw in other pieces of advice so I don't look completely clueless I am more than happy to listen!! The color schemes I was going with is a mixture of burgundy and browns.
