This is a drunk, late night post, so go easy on me. I feel like my life has fundamentally changed since playing this game. I first gave it a go this year during lockdown through a recommendation of a friend. I played the first couple hours without being super impressed, but once I reached City of Tears I was madly in love. Something about the art, gameplay and the music seemed to change me on a fundamental level. I don't think I've been the same since.

There aren't many games (or any media) that have this affect on me, but Hollow Knight is one of them. I can't listen to the music from City of Tears without feeling a deep sense of... something. I can't even describe it, I just feel at home when that incredible piece starts to play.

I am a decent pianist and have learned to play (most of) City of Tears, it's such an emotional piece that I can't help but feel a deep sense of pride whenever I play it. It's like I can taste just a fraction of what I felt the first time I entered the city, I can almost relive one of my favourite memories.

There isn't a point to this post, I just wanted to immortalise the crazy feelings I have whenever I think of this game. Hopefully some other people here can relate. Just, god damn, this game deserves more recognition, it is art in the highest form.

Love this community and this game. Hope y'all are keeping well and staying sane in the wait for Silksong.
