Hubris has been my downfall.

Effortlessly I barreled through the game on steel soul mode, only once coming anywhere near death (Hive Knight has never clicked for me). I had played this game several times before, completing everything except for the final two pantheons. Surely I was competent enough to breeze through 100% steel soul completion. Brazenly I entered the Queen's Gardens, platformed my way up, deciding to go after the Traitor Lord almost as an afterthought.

I had forgotten about double damage. For my sins I was swiftly cut down, ending an hours-long endeavor that by rights I should already have been able to complete, had I not been so arrogant. I sat for minutes with my hand over my mouth, staring at the screen, barely able to breathe.

... At least I have an excuse to play through this magnificent game one more time.
