I played Hollow Knight about 3 years ago and since then I've been craving for more games like it. I tried Metroid Dread and was really disappointed by the linearity even though I liked the combat and atmosphere. I'm currently playing Metroid Prime remastered and I'm having the exact same thoughts as I did about Dread. I keep going down different paths only to discover dead ends or optional weapon upgrades. I might get a lot of hate for this but after playing both Metroid games, I see them as much worse than Hollow Knight because of that exploration factor. I've discovered that the draw of Metroid games is the atmosphere and lore but Hollow Knight has that and more. I still can't believe Hollow Knight is a real game that was sold for 15 dollars. I'm curious what everyone else thinks of Metroid in comparison to Hollow Knight!
