Looking for a good running or cross trainer shoe for my 11 year old son.
My son has narrow feet, a high arch and achilles tendon issues due to his calves being super tight. He has seen a foot doctor and has gotten a custom foot insert for his high arch. Itβs helping as it should as his feet wanted to collapse inward due to his really high arch.
High foot doctor recommended Hokas and we was looking at the Bondi 8βs which some say he could also practice indoor basketball in. The shoe salesman also Recommended Altra Olympus 2. I see the Altra has 0 drop though. The Bondi 8 seems to be a better pick For his Achilles Tendon issues until we get his calves worked out.
Any suggestions would be great. Currently he wears cheapo kid nike tennis shoes.
He plays Travel Basketball and we are working on strengthening his ankles but that will take time. If he wear low tops he puts on his DonJoys performance pod ankle braces.
Any help or suggestions would be great on shoes exercises anything. This kid is super athletic but this is kryptonite. He turns 12 in 7 weeks and is due for a big growth spurt soon. He downs 2500 healthy calories a day. Iβm doing everything I can to get his lower legs and feet in order for my son.
I hate he inherited this from me.
