No shade to the show. I've been watching it for many years.
But after finding out that on Intervention the drug addicts are often provoked to use, or encouraged to used, because a using addict makes for much better television than an addict just on the brink of recovery, I wonder if the same tactic is used on hoarders.
Does anybody know if the hoarders get provoked to emotional outbursts off screen? I'm thinking of Eric from one of the 2019 episodes, The gorgeous leather chair ended up in the trash, and there was a lot of talk and blame shifting about who did or didn't throw the chair away. It was hard to believe that wasn't deliberate.
