This is the third installment of the Haiti Today lecture course. You can find the lecture here. If you have not been following along you can see the outline here, the lecture on history here, and the piece on Vodou here. Feel free to read all of them or just the lectures that interest you.
This lecture tries to get at what it means to live in Haiti through the lenses of gender, kinship, class, and economy. It is by no means a complete view despite its length, but hopefully it will provide you with a general understanding of the island nation that goes beyond what you see on the news.
