Today I released some special online bonus content for The Siècle, my history podcast about France 1814-1914. It's a retelling of the dramatic events of Napoleon's Hundred Days... as Simpsons GIFs.
Featuring:
- Sideshow Bob as Napoleon Bonaparte
- Homer Simpson as Louis XVIII,
- Bart Simpson as Louis-Philippe,
- Kent Brockman as Joseph Fouché,
- Krusty the Clown as Benjamin Constant
- and more.
I was surprised at how perfectly some of these characters fitted into their "roles," especially Bob as Napoleon. (Homer, of course, is by this point a chameleon who has a GIF for literally anything you want him to be or do, but he fit pretty well as the fat, gluttonous, cowardly but ultimately triumphant Louis XVIII.)
