The Qing Dynasty came into being on May 27, 1644, when a coalition of Manchurian and Han Chinese troops won the battle of Shanhai Pass. Swiftly marching onto Beijing, Prince Regent Dorgon quickly prepared the city for the arrival of the young Emperor Fulin - later the Shunzhi Emperor of China.

In 1789, the reign of the Qianlong Emperor is dwindling to its end. Though he will prove to have de facto rule of China for ten more years, he is to abdicate in 1793 marking the end of an unprecedented era of Chinese prosperity and power.

As the Son of Heaven, it will be my duty to lead the Great Qing through the turbulent years of revolution in western Europe, and rising liberalism across the globe. I will strive to uphold and extend Chinese hegemony in Asia, while making (historically) reasonable efforts to keep Empire as modern and efficient as possible.
