Welcome to the subreddit formerly known as HistoricalPowers that is now Historical_Powers, an xpowers subreddit set in the age of revolutions! We’re looking forward to a great season! There are some important notes:

Please read the rules on the subreddit before claiming, then take a look at the claim list and the world map and pick a country!

TIME: Every day is one month! That means that May 12th, when the game starts, is January of 1789. May 13th is February of 1789, etc etc.

Meta day: Every Friday is meta day, these days are reserved for discussion and meta type posts, we use it to catch up to posts that we didn’t get a chance to get to throughout the week.

Startdate: January 1st, 1789. In the past year, Austria has joined the Russo-Turkish War. Louis XIV has scheduled to convene the Estates General in May of 1789. The United States has recently secured its independence and states are gradually ratifying the new constitution. Mozart has finished making music. Following the insanity of George III, England has descended into the Regency Crisis of 1788-1789. Denmark invades Sweden as part of the Russo-Swedish War. Great Britain and Prussia sign an alliance in response to the Austro-Russian alliance. At the same time, the Triple Alliance of Great Britain, Prussia, and the United Provinces is signed.

Important events at game start: Russo-Turkish War (Russia, Ottomans), Austro-Turkish War (Austria, Russia, Ottomans), Russo-Swedish War (Russia, Sweden), Theatre War (Sweden, Denmark/Norway), Regency Crisis of 1788-1789 (United Kingdom), Organizations for the abolition of slavery have started in the UK and France, the United States is engaged in conflict with North-Eastern Native Americans.

Independence Movements: Feel free to pick an independence movement, even if it is within another nation. Just follow the same claims process and describe the movement!

Claims: Send claims via modmail, stating what country you would like to control and a short statement about the country’s situation on January 1st, 1789 to show that you’ve done research. Claims will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Austria, France, Great Britain, Russia, Prussia, and the Ottomans will require a more thought out application and we will give the claim to the best application. Once the season has started, submit claims via a CLAIM post with the same information and we will review it!

Conflicts: After making a conflict post, send us details on discord or modmail and we’ll resolve it ASAP.
