The Saxons had been a core part of the Germanic Empire that had rained destruction and fire around the continent, and they had always been a force to be reckoned with. However, ever since the fall of the Germanic Empire and the rise of the House of von Ribbeck, there had been a weakening of their situation. They were raided by Sorbs often, and as the feudal system spread there became less and less to raid. Clamoring for a proper fight and a need for loot soon grew too much for Friedrich von Ribbeck to ignore, and he soon called his nobles to war.
This war would be against the Germans to the north, the Teutons, who had long grown rich off the trade in the Baltic Sea. Many nobles were near the region as well, and Friedrich knew this would be a perfect spot to attack. Moreso, Friedrich was very confident in his people's ability to defeat the Teutons anywhere. The horns of war were called, and the Saxons marched north to take what they deserved.
