Port Protection

Tengdao, about a century ago, was put under protection of the mighty Kingdom of Dali, to defend it from outside forces who may have attempted to invade it.
It was invaded once since the deal, by the Vijayanagaran Empire, who was allowed to take control of the port. However, the port (and nearby roads) are still very popular with Pashtun merchants, as an alternate land route to Shendu and beyond.
The Kingdom's protection of the port is still very vital to the port's success, as recent wars with the Ottoman Caliphate has proven that Vijayanagara alone is not capable of protecting the port themselves.
