When Ruteq staged his coup and established control over The Impirrenship, the lands in the Great Basin that Rynatoo controlled had broken off from the control of the Impirren. Now, Ruteq was an incredible leader and excellent diplomat, and was able to convince some of the closer kings that they should join the now flourishing Impirrenship. But he could not simply encourage all the kings to rejoin. Some enjoyed having their independence, even if it meant they only ruled a simply patch of desert.

So, obviously unable to allow these men to escape the rightful rule of the Third Dynasty, Ruteq declared war upon them.

Map of Konasle movements to secure loyal princedoms and conquer rebellious ones

The Konkowi Konasle (dark red), an army of many thousands was marched through a gap in the Serane Mountains into the relatively flat and comparatively (when next to the harsh deserts in the south) fertile Shosse Desert. This was where the more rebellious and anti-Rynatoonii kings laid, and this is where many battles took place. Even as hundred died from heatstroke and dehydration, the Konkowi Konasle still won every battle against the far smaller armies they faced.

The Yokuku Konasle (green), smaller than that of the Konkowi, marched through a more southern gap in the Serane Mountains into the regions that had mostly given up independence willingly. The konasle grew smaller and smaller as the weeks went on, but not so much due to dehydration and heat stroke (several major rivers ran through this area) but instead due to leaving loyal Rynatoonii garrisons in each vassalized village and building pathways and canals as they went.
