There once was a time when the Kaskadii and Haida were the eternal enemies of the Rynatoonii State. In the times of Impirren Rimaq, when hill terracing was a new development, the Kaskadii ensured that Rynatoo stood weak. But our population grew, theirs fell, and as our neighbors around us fell into distress and disarray, we rose and took their place, and rose above it. The Kaskadii held Makwarepii lands, and we took them. Then we went further. Now we go further north than ever before. For almost half a century our Impirren has slowly and carefully and methodically made the tribes there our allies. We have sent gifts, they have sent gifts in return, our soldiers protected their lands and people, and our technology gave them a boost. Over the decades, the exchanging of gifts turned into the Rekta System, where the Administration gives basic food and tool and shelter resources and in return they give taxes of labor and resources. At the time, nobody but the highest of the Administration knew the grand strategy. But, by now, the Kaskadii have nearly completely fallen to be replaced by the Rynatoonii. Yet their leaders happily send laborers to Makwarep to be used, their leaders still think that they are exchanging gifts. Their chiefs are illusioned to believe they are in power...

They are not.

We are.
