Though Sultan Yufitran has recently celebrated his seventieth birthday, and it seems age should be wearing him down, he continues to work tirelessly to reform and progress his Sultanate. Perhaps one of his most revolutionary reforms--aside from leading a revolution against the religious theocracy before him--has been the implementation of factory systems in which great numbers of artisans and labors work produce large quantities of high-demand goods in a highly organized setting. Textiles, glasswares, and ceramics are all now much more widely available within the Sultanate than they once were--and this has important implications for commerce as well.
The most recent types of factories established are mints, used to more efficiently monetize the various raw and finished goods produced within the Sultanate's plantations and cities. Curiously, however, it is claimed by people who work in these mints that they are producing coins unlike those previously used by the Imazighen; furthermore, none have identified the coins as bearing symbols or marks used for currency from other nations.
Messengers on swift camels have recently been sent to both nations, requesting that their leaders or those representatives concerned with trade and commerce meet with the Sultan at a conference in Wa-Iharan. As these emissaries made their respective journeys, rumors quickly began to fly from caravansary to caravansary that the Sultan has one more grand plan to execute before he retires from rulership.
