The city of Koral is bleak and windswept standing on a rocky peninsula thrust from the comfort of the shore. The Taldekatzik, Agran, who resides here is a bitter and envious man; jealous of Taldekatzi Nafruti and with limited control over his lands. At the very end of the city, the tip of the peninsula, lies the Taldekatzikamra (residence and of the Taldekatzik and meeting ground of his Taldekatzim); it's a large faded whitewashed building with a courtyard in the middle and a small tower at the seaward side. The roof is clay tiles and perched upon them are three people clothed in robes with one holding a long bow and the other two with machetes out. Inside the tower house there lies the Nafruti who is visiting his Taldekatzik, including Agran. Slowly the three men creep across the rooftop towards the tower house, wherry of the guards who walk in the courtyard below them.

After an hour of their slow crawl they finally reach the towerhouse. The man with the bow checks to make sure the coast is clear and the two others vault inside; the bowman standing watch. Inside the towerhouse the bed stands to the attackers left, with a man slumbering peacefully in it. The man's face is kindly and weather worn from his long years as a trader; his hair is black and close cropped with gray streaks over his temples and an Hayesesque beard, black as well. One of the two men, with his machete out, goes towards the door prepared to kill any who attempt to interfere. The other, this one a woman, replaces her machete with a knife and creeps towards the body lying under the sheets. Slowly she leans over the body and puts her knife inches from his throat; as she begins to draw the knife across she whispers: "Maklepti favanadö mipana kahal." and draws the knife. The blood seeps slowly as if in a trance and she walks up to the window. The man by the door opens it quickly then jumps out stabbing the two men guarding the chamber, killing them instantly. Then runs back and vaults over the window and out into the night.

The three figures run across the roof away from the scene of their crime just as rain begins to fall.
