stupid-simple question about a 16th century doublet
Post Body

using a reconstructing history pattern (I know they're not great, but it's what we had, and we've already made a successful pair of pluderhosen from them), and I'm very confused about the front curve of the doublet. In the images shown by the pattern, and in the pictures of the Sture clothing, the front of the doublet is perfectly straight, and I just can't work out in my mind how one becomes the other.

Any advice?
