I am in need of shoes that will at least pass at a glance for late 1700s shoes. My issue is that I need them to be completely flat due to mobility issues. I have small, wide feet, which makes it even more difficult.
I was considering moccasins. Sounds completely wrong, I know. However, it is for a primitive crafts fair with a sort of an explorer/settler vibe than a refined one. (My father is a member of the Choctaw Nation. I make primitive pottery that is a sort of nod to the Choctaw, the Iroquois, and my Irish side.) They will be my last resort if I cannot find something suitable.
Also, would it be completely wrong for me to have a leather half apron or something for when I am demonstrating making the pottery? I do not use a wheel, but it does get messy.
Thank you!
