Post Body

I'm a freelance content writer and copywriter, and I'm looking for a little extra work to kind of "fill in the gaps" in my current workload.

I'm open to both one-off projects or short term work, and to longer term engagements with ongoing work.

I have about four years of experience.

While I'm primarily a writer, I do have a strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, tactics, and best practices. I also have a strong handle on the dynamic nature of the discipline, and I stay up to date with the latest industry developments.

Experience & Expertise: Types of Writing

I have plenty of experience with the following types of content writing and copywriting:

  • Blog posts. (This includes both blog posts are heavily SEO oriented, and those which are not. If you're in digital marketing, you're aware of how drastically that particular subset of the industry has changed and evolved over the last four years. The kind of writing I started out with -- 500 words of heavily keyword-centric content per post, usually quite generalized and surface level -- is all but obsolete. The blog posts of today are much longer and more comprehensive, though perhaps they sometimes tend toward breadth rather than depth. I could probably write a small book on this subject, but yeah, you get what I mean.)

  • Website copy. (Think Home Page, About Page, Service pages, that kind of thing.)

  • Landing pages. (For quite a few different types of products, services, and industries. See below for more info on those.)

  • Facebook ad headlines and copy. The headlines, in particular, are something I have a good deal of experience with. I have learned reliable strategies for creating headlines that really appeal to audiences, and that entice them to click through for more info.

  • Facebook posts, tweets, LinkedIn posts, and G posts. Yes, Google , haha. Basically, I have experience writing social media copy across a range of platforms. I also have a lot of Tumblr experience, but that's more of a hobby thing.

  • Video and audio scripts. I've never quite considered this my key area of expertise or anything, but I do have experience with it.

  • Product descriptions. This includes tangible products, digital products, and services.

  • Ebooks and white papers. I do want to point out that when I say "ebooks," I generally mean the kind that you use for lead gen. (Mostly on digital marketing topics, but other things as well.) I do not offer fiction writing as a service.

  • Marketing emails. This includes newsletters, drip campaigns, and cold outreach.

Experience and Expertise: Niches and Industries

I have experience writing for the following industries and niches.

  • Digital marketing. This is really my main niche. If you need content about the latest smart Facebook ad headline strategies, tips and tricks for better business blogs, X Awesome Facebook Marketing Hacks, and things of that nature, that's my jam.

  • Fashion and Beauty. This is something I'm very into, but with which I don't have as much experience as I do with other industries. So I'm actively seeking out work in those areas.

  • Health and Medicine. Before I started focusing more on writing about marketing, this was kind of my key focus. I'm still quite comfortable with these topics. I've written for both lay audiences, and for audiences consisting of physicians and other health professionals. So I can write at both higher and lower levels for this kind of thing. I'm comfortable with holistic and natural health to a point. I'll gladly write about the benefits of zen meditation for mood disorders, but I'm not going to promote a fruit extract as a cure for cancer.

Those are my preferred niches, but I'm open to work in other areas as well.

Here's a short list of things I do NOT do:

  • Gaming. Just not my thing. I think this kind of content is a lot better off in the hands of someone who's more familiar with the subject matter.

  • Tech, especially programming. If you need an in-depth tutorial on how to do certain things in Javascript, I am not the person you're looking for.

Rates

My rates start at $0.05/word for most basic blog content.

They do vary depending on the nature and scope of your project, but this depends on exactly what you need.
