I enjoy reading and writing. If I could get paid to read and write, I would gladly read and write for much or all of my living. Hence I posted this.
For fiction, I read science fiction and fantasy primarily. For nonfiction, I read just about anything, but I am most interested in philosophy, psychology, popular science, and politics.
We both have read awful work, some of it ours that we found at a later date. We both want the work out there, especially our own, to be better. For a fee, I can help you improve your writing. For that fee, I can support myself and dedicate more time to my own writing projects and reading interests. It is a win-win situation. Of course, you wonder, "why should I pay when there are a lot of people out there who would do it for free or for the price of a finished e-copy?' To that, we both know the answer: not everyone is as dedicated or as qualified as an experienced person intent on making part of their living by professionally reading and editing. I am such a person. I wager we will both agree about that fact in no time.
For $0.05 Canadian per word, I will provide a detailed reader/creative-perspective review, some editing services (specifically, style, developmental, and/or structural edits), and proofreading.
I accept PayPal and e-transfer.
Edit: To back up my qualifications, I can show my transcripts, my award history, my degree, and my reference list in private upon request. If you want to see my library, too, I can show you pictures of my bookcases once I get my room in order. I recently moved house and downsized my library to do so. Many of the books I have read (and still have physical copies of) are in boxes.
