Thinking about using a wheelchair/ rollator

Post Body

Hi everyone. I (24F) am nearly 1 year post op for a labral tear repair and still struggling with mobility, in some ways worse than pre-op.

I am back and forth between needing both crutches still or a cane. Whenever I limp it hurts my non-operative side badly because that hip also has a tear.

Lately I am considering inquiring about a walker or a wheelchair/ rollator but I feel embarrassed and I don’t know how my doctors will react to this. I am afraid they will react poorly or tell me its not that bad. I also dont know if my parents or friends will react very well to me using a walker.

I am very cooped up and I just want something to help me get around longer distances.

What I notice is that there is sometimes a pinching sensation inside my hip when I place my foot down… this goes away but returns if I push too hard. I try to push through the limp but I cant when its bad.

I don’t know if I need a prescription but I just feel sort of apprehensive about the whole thing.. I was wondering if anyone had some similar experience or advice with getting a new mobility aid.

thanks!
