Hello, I am planning to travel with my friend after second week of May and we are really stuck between Triund vs Shoja. I put a question here some days ago about desire to stargaze and someone suggested looking through light pollution maps. And looking on them I came to realise Gushaini should be a very good location to stargaze. At first we planned a combo of Shoja and Gushaini because they two are very close but soon we came to realise that Triund trek offer very beautiful views and we can also stay in guesthouse solving the problem of camping but on the other hand we will have to travel from Mcleodganj to Gushaini with 6hr travel by bus as per Google maps if we want to stargaze. So I am wondering if Trund is really better than Shoja or not because you can't really tell just by looking at images from the internet. Also in Triund we aren't planning to trek any distance longer than a point where it is not possible for us to return to guesthouse before sunset. So in the end it's a question about which one of the two Shoja and Triund would offer better views, solitude and a connection with nature?
