Hike at Owen-Putnam State forest on January 27
Post Body

I found this on facebook through the Indiana Forest Alliance, on the Heartlands Group of the Sierra Club Hoosier Chapter (just found out this existed today), so I thought I'd share. Not sure if I am personally going to go.

"Owen-Putnam Friends of the Forest will join The Heartland Group of the Sierra Club for a winter saunter in the Owen-Putnam Forest on Jan. 27th. This will be our first hike of the year. We've scouted out a hike that will give a great overview of the forest here along with some interesting local history. We have rated this hike as moderate but it will have the potential to be more challenging dependent on the conditions left on the trail due to winter weather. Expect wet trails and small stream crossings. Bring footwear appropriate for this type of condition. Hiking pole/s recommended. We will have extra poles, if you need one, just let us know. The hike will be 3 to 4 miles depending on the trail conditions and the route we decide to use. Bring 2 litres of water and a snack or lunch. For more details and to sign-up for this hike please RSVP to: Jesse Kirkham at [email protected] ."
