Yesterday I finished High Republic #15 & Eye of the Storm #2 and wow what an incredible end to Phase 1.

HR 15 was incredible and heartbreaking, though I do wish it had more happen (maybe running into other characters rather than alluding to them being on the station during Avar’s meditation to aid Maru)

My main criticism of HR 15 is that big things happened like Terec and Ceret (super dope) but then when Maru saves Avar (one of my favorite scenes) the top half being destroyed happens soon after. I’d like to see how Keeve and T&C escaped and maybe what happened to other Jedi…(but more on that below)

Either way the final issue of the phase 1 main comics was great and I really hope that Avar re-enters the adult novels so we can see more of her. Personally, I hope the comics (at least once we shift back to present day) shift to more telling stories on the side of the novels or filling in gaps between them.

As for Eye of the Storm it was amazing! We got reveals about the Leveler/the Nameless and the trippy planet they come from. Which helps explain a LOT of the clues we’ve been getting as readers. Both parts in the Chancellor’s office were incredible, really showing how the cracks in the Republic will begin to take hold. And how the Jedi will lose some of the reverence and respect the Galaxy at this time holds for them. The stormseed plot is WILD and feels like one of the hugest set ups for Phase 3. Now I just want to know which Outer Rim sectors are now “Nihil space” (which with Republic officials calling it that says a LOT about the situation heading into Phase 3). I think the capture of Master Obatruk (sorry if I spelled wrong I put my comic away already for safe keeping!) implies that there may be other Jedi that have been captured… I think quite a few of the folks that are “missing” will turn out to be captives of Marchion. Or they could all be dead but I’m lowkey thinking he got his Nihil operatives to capture some of them on Starlight.

Lastly, after Midnight Horizon I lol’d when he was talking about stolen Corellian cruisers 🤣 like uhhhhh might wanna talk to your peeps there

Anyway what is everyone else’s thoughts?!
