I’m curious to know if there are any providers who up their rates for certain clients. In particular, I’ve seen talk on Twitter & in this subreddit about providers charging clients who require a lot of emotional labor more $$$ per session. Basically, I am potentially interested in using this policy with a couple of my regulars who try and “blur the lines,” if you will.

If you have experience with this, how did you implement it? Were you specific about why you were requiring more (their annoying behaviors), or more coy? Ultimately, how did you explain the increase when your website has your “normal” rate.

At this point, I don’t necessarily care if they move on, but if they are willing to compensate me more, I may put up with the nonsense throughout the winter when it tends to get a bit slower for me.
