New to Twitter: Etiquette on building connections with other providers?

Post Body

Hi all!

I'm relatively new to escorting (<1 year, FSSW for several years) and have just created a Twitter profile not too long ago.
While I'm relatively familiar with the job, not having any friends/acquaintances in the industry is becoming very challenging. I have recently found myself within a very difficult and unhealthy/harassing dynamic with a now ex-client, and not having anyone to turn to has been rough. I'd love to extend my support for other SWers going through difficult situations as well. Ultimately it would be amazing to find doubles partners too, I feel slightly embarrassed when clients ask me to bring friend to our next session and I have no one who I can suggest.

My challenge is that I'm new to social media in general (no personal Twitter, FB, insta etc), and I have no idea what the etiquette is to go about making friends in the industry. I feel as though DMing might be too imposing, and I notice the way other providers comment on each other's posts seems to me like they already have solid friendships established.

So how do y'all do it? Any advice to approach making connections with other workers would be so very much appreciated!
