I am trying to move and have been name-dropping to every client I see that I am appt shopping. The thing is in my city it is almost impossible to get an apartment without multiple proofs of legal income.
A client of mine that I see like every two weeks (or twice a week depending on availability), offered to help me get an appt. If he offers to rent it for me, What is the best way to do this so I minimize financial risk?
Would having him do a year lease and not having my name on it be good? Having him be a co-signer? Financial suggestions?
Yes we talked about this meaning he doesn’t get to see me unlimited, and yes I could just take his cash but it’s unlikely that I would want to rent a 5k/mth appt myself.
Edit: Where I am it’s almost impossible to get appts. Much less pay in cash when you don’t have legal certificates of income. So the reason he’s helping me is because I can’t get an apartment myself.
