I'm a low volume provider charging on the upper end of North American rates, and I get a solid amount of bookings here with a 1000/h rate, but I'm going to Europe for a while and planning on maybe advertising and meeting some clients when I'm there. I noticed the rates on the European market seem to be much lower than they are here. If you have toured Europe, did you lower your rates in Europe, or did you keep them similar to your American rates, and if you did keep them similar to your American rates, did you get any/many bookings.
The European & British high end providers that my clients have provided as references don't publish their rates, clients have to send an inquiry for them, so maybe there are some providers charging similar to American rates, or maybe there's another reason for it- does anyone know why some many high end providers there don't advertise rates? Like I mentioned, I have a lot of European clients who come to North America for business and are happy to pay my higher rates here, but I'm not sure if they'll be able to see me when I'm there, I'm just more using it as a reference for knowing that European clients will pay my rates, but I'm still thinking about what to charge when I go there, as maybe it's an "only when abroad" kind of situation, because they can get a similar provider for less in Europe?
Anyways, any advice from anyone who has toured there or works there would be appreciated!
