Has anyone traveled for 4 weeks with a client who wants to share a room? Do you have tips for self-care and insuring alone time without having a separate room? I struggle with insomnia as well, so if you have LT sustainable overnight tips, that would be helpful. (Typically with an overnight I just expect to not sleep) The client is lovely and respectful of my requests, and the rate makes it worth some slight discomfort, but if anyone has experience with this and has some helpful tips to share on what boundaries to set and sweet ways to do so, Iād be grateful!
I'm sensing cruise here. If you can trust him not to rape you there's always a bit of anti anxiety meds before bed (xanax, valium), or a little weed or something. Then again, if you can trust him not to rape you, you can trust him enough to ask him for your own space and tell him why you need it.
Outside of that...Regarding Valium. I've only taken it for an overnight once and I only took enough to GET me to sleep, not to keep me asleep if something started happening. I was also already used to Valium at the time. If you aren't used to it and can't dose it just right. I wouldn't do this.
Evsn if you end up getting your own room for sleep (the absolute best option) I would still request a certain amount of alone time per day, outside of getting ready time, otherwise you're going to be in the bathroom for 5 hours at a time trying to relax by day 6.
Oooh. For sure don't endanger any sobriety you might have going on for this. Have you decided what you're going to do yet?
You're welcome, it's an AWESOME resource. I hope you enjoy it and your trip!

Well that's much better than before! Have you ever read "Never Split the Difference"? I would recommend it. The audiobook is only like 8hrs. It can help while you're renegotiating space throughout the trip imo.
