If you're not out to friends/family, how do you work around touring details?

Not sure if the question in the title makes sense (I'm on the verge of a nap), but I'm not out to my family (and have NO INTEREST to be), and am considering doing a tour when they look after my son in the summer of next year

Before having a baby, I could just easily pass it off as low-key traveling. (I'd drive around and go camping a lot.) But they're nosy and I can't pass it off as just that or taking a vacation, as that's not a good reason to leave behind my son and have them take care of him. It'd also be suspicious if I then came back with a whole bunch of money. (My family is from the Philippines - trying to get them to mind their own business isn't a thing because the term "setting/respecting boundaries" doesn't seem to exist.)

I have done seasonal work in Alaska in real life, but I wouldn't want to use that as an excuse for a few reasons, especially since I prefer my lies about SW to be based on some truths. In this case, I wouldn't want to lie about being stationary in a remote Alaskan town when really I'm driving/flying all over the US. If I made even a tiny slip, that would be really risky.

I mostly just say I do writing, website building, and social media marketing, but especially after COVID, traveling around when most of that stuff is accepted as at-home work wouldn't really seem as believable. I was considering lying about working for a touring band, but a lack of pics and social media stories would probably be suspicious.
