is there ACTUALLY a strong correlation between food and flare ups?

Got recently diagnosed with HS and have been seeing a lot of posts here about the relationship with certain food (dairy, nightshades etc) and an increase in flare ups.

I have PCOD a history of disordered eating and I refuse to cut out any food unless absolutely necessary as it is a trigger for me to get back into familiar habits.

Can anyone point me to research that proves a STRONG correlation?
