Hey y'all, I've been dealing with HS for the past 8 years now but I'm still at stage I thankfully. My HS is managed for the most part by taking spironolactone.
I started having bad body sweat in college, especially in the groin area, to the point that if I don't change clothes all day I look like I've peed myself. An hour walk means having to change underwear and pants. I've even taken to wearing rags under my boobs to collect sweat, and I change them twice or three times a day. Corn starch gets obliterated, does absolutely nothing for me. I can only wear black polyester pants at this point, and no cotton whatsoever (I go with bamboo, wool or polyester). This hasn't changed even when I've been at my lowest weight (22.6 BMI) and highest weight (34.5 BMI). I have had my hormones checked and everything is within normal range, though some very tiny benign nodules were found on my thyroid that the doctor didn't believe were contributing to my problems.
Obviously this issue is like gas for the flame that is HS, but my most recent dermatologist just never addressed it even when she'd have to examine my sweaty groin area or when I'd tell her every appointment that I always look like I've wet myself. Another doctor has told me that I should avoid any activity that makes me sweat, and as soon as I do sweat I should shower. Obviously this isn't realistic at all since just sitting makes me sweat. I am moving soon and will be on the lookout for a new dermatologist, so hopefully the new one will give me more options. Have any of y'all found any solutions to this, or any kind of support?
