It always helps me to know of situations where other people with HS managed to go in remission so I wanted to share mine. When I studied in Europe (I'm from the US) for a few months, my HS went away entirely after about the first month. I'm not exactly sure why that happened, but when I was there I lost 20 lbs and was a lot more physically active, so I'm assuming those are the primary reasons. Unfortunately after I got back to the US I didn't maintain those habits, gained the weight back, and my HS came back but it gives me hope to know if I made those changes again that remission is possible!
Also an unfortunate takeaway is it made me realize just how much more difficult it is to be healthy in the US. Not only is the cost of healthcare ridiculous here, but it seems like we have a much higher rate of health issues as well, it's depressing.
