Hi! I have mostly been lurking, but I wanted to thank everyone because I realized that I have this skin condition because of you guys. I just thought , eh it’s something that just happens to me and I can’t change it. I now know I can TRY! Also, I am someone who has had A LOT of sexual experiences , and it hurts my heart how many of you feel your skin and blemishes are reasons you won’t be enough to love. I just wanted to also post to send some reassurance for intimacy, I’ve had some huge bumps and no man I’ve ever had sex with(in the 100s - I just like to have fun ) have EVER mentioned my skin and I’ve had flares since I was 13, so I have scarring and random loose skin with like dips in it from the days of my mom trying to relieve the flare.
Mine is mild, and has got really bad(like 6/7 in the panty line and thighs and some on my butt) at once to as minimal as 2 only. For me, I only use underwear on my period, I use THINX for period management along side tampons part of the time. They’re amazing period underwear because the pads used to cause like an extra 4. I also don’t wear bras, ever and anytime I put one on, I have a flare. I know it’s not ideal for everyone but those are things I did to help me, I also did baths in epsom salt and as hot water as I can handle and that helps a lot!
You guys are all so worthy of intimacy!
I’ve noticed men with similar scarring as me, and it’s never been my worry during sex.
ETA: always wash off any lube you used, I hate washing myself off but if I don’t I am guaranteeing to get at least one.
These are all things I’ve done since all my doctors haven’t recommended I even go to a dermatologist. So it’s kind of home remedy based. Bandaids cause my skin an allergic reaction , I like of prep for when my stuff might pop, I can feel when it’s like really bad and just bring extra leggings. I also don’t feel bad staining things. As long as I clean them after.
