Hey everyone

So I’d been mostly flare free for at least a few months or longer which has been a godsend and honestly the only trick I guess is just washing my body exclusively with panoxyl and I double cleanse the trouble areas which are my groin, my butt, and my underarms recently.

This together with being in doxycycline in the last monthish for STI treatment and prevention (I’m still a hoe when I’m flare free lol) I think really has helped.

I will say doxycycline on its own does absolutely nothing for my acne or HS though. Only with panoxyl or benzoyl peroxide cream does it “work”.

Today tho I woke up to a new flare on my groin that is so far small like a pea size and a few in my underarms. I use the ordinary glycolic in a spray bottle as deodorant and it helps but I wouldn’t say it’s the magic bullet for me that it is for everyone. I use it until I start to get irritated then I switch back to regular deodorant until my skin isn’t red and then start with glycolic again.

Also, when I get a really bad flare I’ve been doing a layer of glycolic acid 50% and mandelic acid 40% chemical peels layered on top and it is pretty amazing for halting the pain and activity.

I do not recommend you using such strong AHAs or BHAs on yourself if you aren’t experienced though. I only do cuz I’ve had years and years of in office chemical peels including TCA so I know what my skin can handle and how it is or isn’t supposed to look or feel.

Also a word of caution layering these two acids did give me PIH last time on the defined circle area I applied it to because I did a few layers of each and I went too intense so that’s annoying but it does eventually fade. And I’m fair skinned so keep that in mind.

Anyway, my question is - has anyone tried mixing hibiclens and panoxyl together and is it more effective? I guess my logic is since doxy helps benzoyl peroxide work better or vice versa, would adding a third antiseptic antibacterial help even more?

I’m nervous that my flare free bliss is ending with this current flare cuz it came out of no where and I wana try something to enhance it. I don’t wana stop hoeing around and it’s been too amazing not being in constant pain.

Hibiclens on its own for me does absolutely nothing so I’m wondering mostly like about it enhancing BP like doxy does.

What do you all think? Such a long post but after going through a longer period being flare free I’m really encouraged that I’ve been doing something right - and this is WITHOUT following a diet for HS. I’ve been eating everything I want and drinking alcohol etc etc which made it even more enjoyable.
