Reoccurring Boil for 8 months

Has any one struggled with one specific spot swelling, draining, maybe calming down for a few days, then starting all over again? It’s been 8 months. I plan to finally see my dermatologist this week which has been hard to schedule cause it’s either not swelling when they have availability or I have cold or cough, or like last bad flare up, I was fighting Covid. I’m worried I’ve allowed this one boil to go untreated for too long.
